A LAMP FOR OUR JOURNEY
Picture yourself in the dark. Pitch black. Can’t see a thing.
Take a step forward and you bump into things. Take a wrong step and you fall off a cliff.
Wouldn’t it be great to have a little light? A flashlight, a match, a lamp.
What if you could have a lamp that would not only illuminate what is ahead of you but help you choose which way to go. Now, that would be nice, wouldn’t it?
What will we follow? What will we allow to lead us? What will we listen to for direction in life?
The Psalmist has found just the right lamp. The Psalmist says it is God’s Word. It may not illuminate very far ahead. It may only spread enough light for the next step. But, that would be enough realizes the Psalmist.
