RUNNING WITH A FRIEND
Tom invited me to run with him Saturday morning. I usually run alone. Some days I walk. Some days I bicycle. Usually all by myself. It is just easier.
But, Saturday I ran with Tom. And I loved it. I ran longer and harder. And the conversation was the best part.
I missed listening to podcasts or books on tape, which I usually do. But, the conversation Tom and I enjoyed was so much better.
Most days when I run, I log about 20-30 minutes in my upper heart-rate zone. On Saturday, I logged an even 60 minutes in this upper heart-rate zone. A longer and harder aerobic workout. Nice.
I “preach” the advantages of doing things with others over going it alone. I am glad Tom invited me to practice what I preach.
What do you find you do better when you do it with someone else?
