MAKE MISTAKES
John Wooden is right. “If you are not making mistakes you are not doing anything.” Mistakes are a part of life. You and I don’t have to get everything right. We don’t have to be perfect.
Now, of course, some mistakes are foolish, fatal even. But, most are not. They are simply ways of learning something.
I’ve watched some of the Stetson basketball players shoot baskets in practice and miss one after another after another. But, they keep shooting. They are making minor adjustments to their feet, their arms, their fingers, their minds and bodies. I’ve watched players get better and better even though they are making a bunch of mistakes. It is part of the game of basketball and the game of life.
As I have written this blog, I have made over 35 mistakes. I’ve had to backspace, delete, correct spelling, and punctuation. I’ve looked at what I wrote and thought of a better way of putting it. Now all those mistakes are a whole lot better than not writing at all out of fear of making mistakes. You might find some I missed.
Doers make mistcakes, oops, mistakes.
