Now, of course, some of us change in certain ways throughout our life — we get bigger, we might need glasses to read, our hair turns grey, we get wrinkles…

But, Lynn Hall states, and I have watched people simply become more and more who they really are as they age. If they are happy, their smile remains and grows deeper. If they are grumpy, they complain even more. I notice and discuss this truth with others and many concur, as they think about themselves.

Perhaps we can be more intentional about this. Perhaps we can decide we want to be known as positive, helpful, courteous, kind, cheerful. And so, over time we develop these qualities, work on these elements of ourselves. Maybe we can change who are afterall, by deciding to make the change and take effective action grounding that change deep within us.

Then, she will be right. We can become even more the self we want to be, the self we want others to see, our better self.
